Hello. I'd like to ask experienced or professionals for advice.
in 1.8 id disallowed in some regions to have installed AHS (light) function or VIP packet (politic-economy greedy management).

According to technical doccumentation, such component/function is installable (so it must be supported) into 1.8 models, but original Toyota Service is not sure if it will work without any problems (they have no time for experiments, they are not sure what should they setup in computer - maybe nothing), but have no problem to install it for me.

Only the following is needed to add (+-):

You probably need to try it out.. The Matrix light uses additional control units connected to the camera / radar CANbus.. The camera supplies the info to these additional control units on which area to light during high beam via this can connection.

Furthermore there is a difference on how the light is turned on/off.. On the models without the matrix lights, the body ECU directly powers the headlights. On the matrix lights version, the body ECU talks to the extra lamp control units via CAN and the wire which is used on the "non-matrix" models is disconnected..

So you would probably need to do some ECU coding, as you have to tell the body ECU about the different type of headlamps and maybe there is some conding in the camera as well, as it needs to supply the new head lamp ECUs with the info..

Furthermore, you would have to check if your wiring harness already has the connectors for the headlamp ECUs.. Not sure if Toyota has different wiring harness depending on model.. Otherwise you would have to manually run the wires and crimp the correct connectors. (or change the whole harness)..

Guess the new headlamps as well as ECUs are quite expensive as replacement parts.

On my car i wanted to add the electronic airflow shutters (which block the airflow to the radiator to increase efficency if the engine is cold).. The replacement parts run for ~800€ new.. And this is basically some plastic part, a few brackets and a CAN controlled cheapo servo motor. Guess for a headlamp replacement you are looking at 3000-5000€+?

Dear Spacefish007, if you check above information, you will see, that lights are equal, no need for this expensive replacement, only needed is:
- adding that light computer - there is already space for that;
- theoretically add cabeling (but it can be there already);
- theoretically enable this feature in computer;
